The paper, chose the relatively rapid provinces development of wood processing industry such as Shandong, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Fujian and Guangdong for the study, the economic growth theory as a theoretical basis, relied on China and the sample province's the present situation of wood industry. based on the statistical data of sample provinces over the size of the timber processing enterprises from 1999 to 2008. used the economic growth model as the main tool for quantitative analysis, and Used multiple regression analysis to calculate the sample province's wood processing enterprises in factor inputs and total factor productivity contribution rate of output, and summarized the wood processing industry output growth characteristics.According to the analysis, summarized the main features of industrial development on Sample provinces wood processing industry, First, the level of development of wood processing industry and TFP contribution to output showing the basic level of economic development and regional development is characteristics of highly relevant, the higher the level of provinces's economic development, the faster the development of timber processing industry, TFP is greater contribution to output. Second, the contribution of capital input to output is less than the contribution of labor input to output, the contribution of labor input to output have absolute dominance, wood processing industry output growth generally has a low degree of extensive growth type; Third, TFP growth on the wood processing industry output share contribution of the low weight, wood processing industry output growth now rely mainly on factors such as capital and labor inputs increase in the quantity. Finally, China's timber processing industry is also an urgent need to upgrade industrial structure. Therefore, and promoting technological progress, improving resource allocation and economies of scale, optimize industrial structure to promote wood processing are still the main objective of industrial development in the future.
