Research On Distribution Center Inventory Control Under Uncertain Demand

Distribution center is a location or organization engaged in logistics activities. It is an institution or facility that integrated logistics management, control and distribution to guarantee the cargo circulate efficiently. Inventory control is an important part of logistics management in distribution center, and it's also an important link for distribution center to realize the economic benefits. But in reality, the phenomenon of surplus or shortage occurring frequently, which result distribution center to suffer huge losses. Therefore, how to establish proper inventory levels, which can not only reducing inventory costs but also without compromising on customer service, has become the most important issue for business managers to consider. After literatures have been reviewed, I found there were lots of literatures on the inventory study of domestic and international, but the literatures on the distribution center inventory problems were relatively small. What's more, there were some limitations in the existing inventory models under uncertain demand conditions, so the study on the issue has theoretical and practical significance.This dissertation conducted a research on distribution center inventory control under uncertainty need circumstance and the detail below:(1) This paper has expounded the research background, purposes and significance. And the main content, structure and innovation have been introduced.(2) I have summarized inventory control problems of home and abroad. And I have analyzed the deficiency in distribution center inventory control research of domestic scholars.(3) The inventory control theory and methods were researched, and than especially presented the constraint factor of inventory control, evaluation index and common inventory control methods.(4) Analysis the principle and foundation of distribution center inventory control model design. Then I made a study of the distribution center existing inventory control models. Finally, I have analyzed the limitations of the existing inventory control models when they were applied to distribution centers.(5) According to the characteristic of customer needs and satisfy client needs and minimize the total inventory cost as a finally goal, inventory control models of need consequent and discrete were built, at last testify the practicability of this models by bases.
