Analysis For The Cause And The Solutions To The Food Security Problem

There is a Chinese old saying that people take the food as the prime want of life, and the food security must be the most import thing. This always warns us: The security of food is the key question to the production and consumption of food. Since our country has put the market economy into practice since 1992, even though it is reasonable for people to pursue the economic development, they ignore the business principles and their social responsibilities. From the beginning of this century on, there are food-safety problems happening almost every year during this past 10 years, especially, the serious event about the milk power happened in Sanlu Group, shocking so many people all over the country, which caused the security problem of food and got every consumer into trouble. The hygiene and the quality of the food can not be guaranteed, moreover, illegal use of food additive is growing intensively in recent years. All the problems above hurt the innocent baby, and we can not help shouting loudly from the bottom of our heart: What kind of food can we have? The Food Safety Law, having prepared for many years and is people-oriented, comes out into practice and finishes the century of the Food Sanitation Law. Although people are filled with exultation for the Food Safety Law, the remained milk power that is not destroyed completely still spread unchecked in the market. This kind of phenomenon proved that only a few pieces of law can not solve the security problem of food completely.Referring to this difficult problem above, in the following essay, I want to talk about three questions from some related economic theories: Firstly, in this article, I will introduce the background about the security problem of food, and expound some economic regulations that do guarantee the safety of food; Secondly, in terms of these two sides that both the market and the government do not work, I will analyze the deep economic reasons of food safety problem; Lastly, according to such economic reasons, I will find out some relevant ways to deal with the situation of the security problem of food from three aspects: legislation, law enforcement, and administration of justice, meanwhile, I will also give my own suggestion on how to make the relevant regulations perfect. The security of food will concern to everybody's life and health, under this case, nobody is"outsider". Therefore, in order to ensure the security of food, people all over the country would better take part in and bear their own social responsibility.
