Ye Shi is an important figure in the development of economic thinking in Chinese history. Wise and sensible, he has extraordinary foresight and sagacity. He inherited and developed the traditional economic views of Confucian. And in some aspects, he broke through the shackles of traditional thought and followed the development of history and the law of nature. He criticized the traditional economic dogma "Emphasis on justice, look down profit ". Also, he is the first one who struggled against "Attention to agriculture, inhibit business" publicly. He thought the government shouldn't interfere in the commercial industry. On the contrary, they should propel its development. In addition, he advocated letting the businessmen participate in politics and objected to recovering the "nine squares" system. He thought the government should divide Fujian and Zhejiang and rich Jing and Chu, for in this way, the contradiction between peasants and land can be solved. As for fiscal thinking, he distinguished the differences between Money Management and Money Amassment. He believed the government should implement the principle of "make both ends meet" to make sure the fiscal balance. Meanwhile, he put forward some specific measures in the light of the disadvantages appeared in the taxes and made a reasonable explanation about the causes of the "shortage of money" in Song dynasties. Besides, he put forward some strategies.Although Ye's economic thinking is not profound in theory, it still leads the new ideological trend. Therefore, it is safe to say that, originating in history and base on the reality, Ye's economic thinking is by no means created blindly. Therefore, the research on Ye's economic thinking not only has academic value, but also has enlightenment for us to understand the social history and economic thought in this time.
