With the global economic development, people's demand for quality of life is growing higher, and the international process of food industry is growing much more deepening. In recent years, food safety incidents happened frequently in home and abroad, safety has also become the focus of attention. Based on growing network information technology and product identification technology, how to use them to explore, practice and do implementation in the food chain for safety supervision, has become a pressing issue. As a general, relatively complete identification technology, modern bar code technology developed with standardized technical system, as a basis for food production and distribution process, it not only has a practical basis, but also can be learned from foreign precedence.Based on bar code theory, this paper provides us with deep research on food production and distribution process, mechanism of food issues in addition to domestic food regulatory approach, using systematical analysis, process analysis and historical analysis, through wide researching. Furthermore, study on feasibility and necessity of carrying bar code technology on food supply process. Based on this theory, creatively do program designing for applying bar code technology on food production and distribution process. First analyses key point of food process; then describes how to achieve a comprehensive finished product track and trace food from the identified layer and system architecture layer; finally take tea for example, build a model. In the end, with domestic actual conditions and model itself, doing rational explaining on problems we may meet in the future, and giving suggestions.
