Since the reform and opening up to outside world, great changes has taken place in the economy system of our country, in which the reform of state-owned enterprise is a very important part. Since the middle period of 1990s, the reform of state-owned enterprise has entered a property oriented new stage which results lots of collective action. Study on these collective actions will be propitious to the stability and development of china's urban society.Case study and empirical analysis are the main method of this study. As to the analysing strategy, a combination of structure analysis and process-event analysis is adopted, which is an attempt in the study of workers'collective action during the reform of state-owned enterprise. On the background of the reform of market economy system and the change of Danwei system, under the guidance of the theories of collective action and Danwei, through inspection,interviewing and document analysis, the author analyses how two kinds of Danwei phenomenon which are Danwei consciousness and difference-sequence pattern in Danwei respectively work in the collective action during the reform of D factory. And the author also explains why these two kinds of Danwei phenomenon can work in the collective action during the reform of D factory by giving a description of the workers'public life in the public space of D factory.Through the study of the collective action during the reform of D factory, there are following conclusions. First, Danwei consciousness of the workers in the D factory which is formed in their everyday life by a long period is the psychological foundation of the collective action. For working and living in Danwei for a long time, the workers have a consensus and reliance on Danwei. So, even the economic efficiency of enterprise in a bad situation, they still can not accept the transformation of the D factory. However, the decrease of the common workers'income and the consciousness of equal distribution which formed in the period of public ownership cause intense relative deprivation in the common wokers'mind. Second, the structure foundation of this collective action is difference-sequence pattern in Danwei. According to Mancur Olson's theory of collective action, factors such as the scale of the group,selective incentive and inner structure of the group determine the collective action. In the collective action of D factory, there is not obviously elective incentive to the workers. The rewards is uncertain if they join the collective action and if they not, there is not any publishment to them. But the inner structure of the group that joins the collective action is united and well connected for the reason that through the difference-sequence pattern in Danwei, every single person in the group can find a small group in which he is the core. Last but least, the phenomenons such as Danwei consciousness and difference-sequence pattern in Danwei formed by a long time will not disappear soon after the reform of state-owned enterprise, which will influence the urban society continuously.
