Patent technology is one of the core foundations for competitive edges of a country, a region, an enterprise as well as an industry. In accordance with the research reports from World Intellectual Property Organization, above 90% of inventions across the world are first reflected by patent documentation, in which there are large amounts of technological, economic, and legal information. Full development and application of patent information will facilitate technicians to improve current technology and discover new areas of technology.As regarding specific analysis of the technology content of patent documentation, common methods of mathematical statistics and analysis won't be able to realize it, while text mining can apply in the fundamental analysis of magnanimity information. The patent map is designed, for some technological areas or themes, to absorb large quantity of information through search, screening, classification, and analysis, reveal implicit technological, economical and legal information, and present with visual diagrams. Therefore, the use of text mining technology based on patent map theory can be rightly applied to the profound analysis of some technological area. To sum up, the major tasks of this thesis is to:(1) Exploit the application and research status of patent map technology both at home and abroad, find out the gap between China and other countries in this area, conduct deep researches and conclude the features, interior structure and common patent analysis methods, classify 15 quantities and qualities analysis indicators, and then discuss and perfect the analysis methods and process based on patent map theory.(2) Put forward a technological procedure of patent map making served in the area of biological medicine, make analytical research of patent maps from the perspective of technological researches and design in accordance with the focuses of technological procedures two items: first, patent maps that shows technological development trend with clustering algorithm and semantic network; second, patent maps that show technological vacancy by means of principal component analysis.(3) Finally, with the example of the patent documentation of humanized monoclonal antibody applied in China, empirical studies are implemented in the practicability and scienticalness of the technological methods and patent maps with emphasized research design.
