As the most developed country in Southeast Asia, Singapore plays an irreplaceable role in the regional economic cooperation. Based on Singapore's policy and activities with ASEAN and ASEAN members, this paper is trying to figure out Singapore's role in Southeast Asian economic regional cooperation. The author concludes that Singapore's leading role will be more and more prominent as the process of industrialization is speeding up. The paper is divided into three parts. The first part introduces the purpose and significance of the study and literature reviews. The second part includes two chapters which introduces the brief situation of Southeast Asian regional economic cooperation and economic development of major ASEAN member countries. From the perspectives of trade, finance, investment, tourism and other economic fields, Chapter 2 systematically analyzes Singapore and Southeast Asian economic cooperation. Chapter 3 summaries the main obstacles of Singapore and Southeast Asian regional economic cooperation. In the end, Singapore's role in the regional economic cooperation will be concluded.
