Nowadays more and more urban citizens have witnessed that their travel demands are skyrocketing increasingly with the rapid growth of our national economy, and as a result construction funds invested in public transportation system increase greatly. For the sake of evaluating social benefits of public transportation system scientifically and rationally, it's necessary to conduct quantitative study on the trip costs of urban transit passengers, and more importantly, the determination of travel time value is one of the most crucial steps in traveler's trip cost analysis. Consequently, after a systematic analysis of public transport users'subjective preference and objective trip feature, this thesis applies Stated Preference Survey Method to establish and solve the model of trip time value in urban public transportation system.Firstly, the model framework of trip time value in urban public transportation system is designed after a comprehensive literature review of trip time value and Stated Preference Survey. Then the basic process of model establishment is determined, as well as the relation of each module. Afterwards in order to determine the basic data needed by the model framework, the influence factors of trip time value in urban public transportation system are analyzed thoroughly.Secondly, the trip data of public transit is collected based on Stated Preference Survey Method. For the purpose of acquiring public transit users'travel preference data with various trip purposes, various income levels and different transfer times, this thesis determines the survey object and the level value of trip feature attributes based on the principle of Stated Preference Survey and travel trait of public transit in Beijing city, and then uses uniform design method to design trip context table. After that, the original data is filtered on the data checking principles to guarantee the precision of the model.Thirdly, the basic travel time value model is selected and the new variable of traveler's income is introduced into the model based on analyzing the influence factors of travel time value. Then the improved travel time value model is proposed, using Stated Preference Survey data.Finally, the parameters of the travel time value models including the trip purposes of business, social entertainment activity and school commuting with different transfer times are calibrated, and then the value of travel time under various conditions in Beijing city are obtained.
