Research On RMB Internationalization, Based On The International Financial Crisis

The current round international financial crisis is the largest one in the history of mankind by far. The financial system of Europe and the United States has suffered heavy losses during the crisis, while China's financial system has remained relatively robust and secure. The more volatility of severe global market and longer of the disorderly adjustment, the more depth and intensity of the market to adjust, and this may fundamentally promote the evolution of the global financial structure. Therefore, this article believes that to some extent the current round financial crisis may undermine the existing international monetary system, and may accelerate the process of internationalization of the RMB.The research method in the paper is based on the financial crisis in a specific historical background, relying on the international monetary, financial crisis and other related theories, based on qualitative analysis and quantitative models, focus on the core contradictions of the shortcomings of the international monetary system, the causes of the financial crisis and the costs and benefits of internationalization of RMB. My conclusions are:(1) The existing deficiencies in the exiting system of the international monetary system is the deep-seated reasons for the current round financial crisis; (2) The current round financial crisis has brought a favorable opportunity for RMB internationalization; (3) In the long term of the internationalization of RMB, benfeits is great than harm; (4) The article proposed a five-step strategy for the internationalization of the RMB.The article is divided into seven chapters. First, introduce the problem of RMB Internationalization and do literature review; second analyze the shortcomings of the current international monetary system, and the impact of the financial crisis on the global financial structure and monetary system; third do cost-benefit analysis for the RMB internationalization, and build the currency index for RMB internationalization; and then focus on recent government actively promote such as the currency swap, the Shanghai international financial center as well as the RMB trade settlement to build a five-step strategy for the internationalization of the RMB; Finally, sum up the article and give the outlook of RMB Internationalization, Based on the international financial crisis at the end.
