A Study On The Features Of Residential Location In Hangzhou

The city has played an important role in modern society. It becomes a center for all economic activities. City itself also developed a lot with the rapid development of the economic activities. More and more scholars have focused on studying the features of residential location in city, they not only described the features of housing prices, but also analyzed the reasons of these.Through the review and comparison of domestic and oversea studies, this article first formed the definition of residential location, it concluded the developments of theories on residential location. Previous scholar in China mainly did researches on spatial features of housing in the city, the reasons of them and spread of urban construction land.The research data in the article were primarily based on the field survey of the author in housing market of Hangzhou, and be processed in GIS software. It used many pictures to describe the features of residential location in Hangzhou, including housing price, architectural model and architectural time of these houses. The housing price in Hangzhou has both peak points and valley points, some are continuous and some are not. The architectural mode in Hangzhou has developed many types, but there is usually only one type in a field. The architectural time is also different in the whole city, but newer ones have taken the main place.Based on the features described, the article also explained the reasons for them. It analyzed the relationships of distances from housing to West lake and CBD, the instrument of housing, consumer decision-making with those features. Residential location features changes continuously with West lake, new CBD and old CBD influenced differently on residential location, when it comes to consumer decision-make, all those activities of consumers and their hobbies has influenced this features a lot.This article did something new of comparing the different residential location features in Hangzhou in different years, it got the conclusion that there become more than one centers of residential location in Hangzhou. This article also analyzed both the political and social reasons for these changes.
