At present, the third round of the Land Use Planning is underway in our country.The results of the land use planning including planning text, planning maps and planning database which is the difference from the two former round of Land Use Planning,is the base of the construction of for the land use planning database. The traditional mapping technology can not meet the present needs prepared by the needs of the arrival of information, making more and more digital mapping applied to the planning maps for the planning work.Since the beginning of the project of the Land Use Planning for Shuozhou in 2009, the research group conducted a series of municipal land use planning theory and practice and Shuozhou Land Use Planning process, the discussion group to learn a great deal of cultural theory, access to a large number of documents, and software to fully study and exploration, the final addition to the completion Shuozhou planning topics, outside the planning framework and description, but also prepared land use maps Shuozhou, Shuozhou land use planning, urban land use Shuozhou city Shuozhou city maps and city land use plan.The main conclusion of the study are as follows:(1) Analyse the limitations of traditional mapping methods and the advantage of the use of the MapGIS for mapping.(2) Discussed the principle of the mapping methods of the overall land use planning at the city level and the various geographic elements it contains.(3) Discuss the element of the mapping of the overall land use planning at the city level.(4) Discussed the methods and the process of the mapping of the overall land use planning at the city level.(5) Analyse the shortcomings of the mapping .
