With the reformation of economy system in the last 20 years, transportation in China has accomplished a rapid development in system transformation under the marketization orientation, and satisfied both economic social development and traveling requirements of people, with a great achievement. Now in the wave of privatization worldwide, transferring of economic structure and inner demand of industry, especially the open policies promised of transportation after our entry of WTO, the direction adjustment is necessary, market structure adjustment is also necessary.In the transportation framework, this paper made a serious analysis including monopoly, competition, privatization and regulation. On this basis, had a second cognition of transportation basic attributes, and made some definition analysis of market structure formation, gaming in monopoly and competition in transportation. As a basic, history and trend study of our transportation, some valuable experiences from foreign high-developed countries also as a reference. Making a deep analysis of industry stage and characters, summarized the section dismissed in transportation development history was the bottle-neck of we needed. But following the path-depended, privatization and loosen regulation now can not have a rapid procedure; we should own a stable law system and a mature market. High concentration ratio in transport market was scientific and practical. Also, the manage departments should have a "tight policy, loosen administration" strategy to conduct the maturity of transport market. This provided suggestions in theory and thought for adjustments of transport market.
