Ming carried out the special policies of combining Tribute trade and Sea Forbidden, which strictly limited the non-governmental foreign trade. Due to the harassment of Japanese Pirates, the Ming Dynasty trade with Japan was particularly restricted by the Sea Forbidden Policy, which had lasted until the end of the dynasty. With the ending up of the official trading ways-Kan-he Trade with Japan, Smuggling Trade had become the only channel of the Sino-Japanese trade relations in Ming Dynasty. This article analyzed the Sino-Japanese Smuggling Trade from political, economic and other aspects, in the aim of sketching out a clear choroid of the development of this trade from a macroscopic view. This article uses philosophical materialism principle to explore the affects on the Sino-Japanese economic exchanges by the changes of political relations in Ming Dynasty, that is to say, the special political reasons for the rise of Smuggling Trade between the two countries. What's more, this article also concludes some points of realistic thoughts on this trade.
