Reforming and opening up for almost 30 years the economy of our country has grown up at a fast speed, the residential income level has also elevated significantly. But at the same time, the income distribution disparity become more and more obviously, and this phenomenon severely hold back the development of our country. It reveals that the income distribution disparity become the big problem on our way to the harmonious society which must be solved.Gini index is a general index which describes the income distribution disparity.Restricted by the economy level, the income data of urban area and country are displayed in two independent part in Chinese statistics yearbook, this make it difficult to calculate the overall Gini index. After analysis other people's method,we bring forward our solution, and we calculate the overall Gini index of our country from 1985 to 2006,on basis of this we analysis the movement of the income distribution disparity in those years. On Gini modulus basis,we use Quintile and income grouping to carries out analysis on our country income distribution pattern and their change more concretely. Our results indicate that the overall Gini index of our country continues increasing at a high speed from year 1985 to year 2005, exceeds 0.4's cordon in 2001,and arrived at 0.4377 in 2005,but it reduced back to 0.418 in 2006.The unreasonable income distribution pattern was caused by two reasons. One is the promptness of income entire spur expands, another is that different group has different increase speed of income.By divided people into seven groups according to the population proportion and calculate the average income of each group,we find that the income level of each group has increased in recent years. When the Reforming and opening up began, some people became rich first,so the income gap became larce.Development for many years,a turn is coming. We also give some relevant suggestions.
