The Research On Protection And Development Of Small Towns Surrounding Big Cities In Urbanization Process

Styles and features of small towns are the historical accumulation of local society, history and culture, whose character represents an integration of information in various directions, and is of great significance for historical memory and development.With development of eocnomy in recent years, construction and development of small towns has passed into a new phase.However, all conditions for development of small towns vary in small towns rapid development.In the pursuit of the greatest economic interests at the expense of the original conservation and renewal of the urban landscape features, Some towns have been changed destructively, and lost local proper styles and features.Therefore, it has been an urgent problem that how the protection and development in small towns construction dialectically be settled and the healthy development of small towns be promoted in the rapid process of urbanization.Based on the current important concepts and principles of small towns protection, after investigating small towns surrounding the central city area, in which Chang,Zhu,Tan city group is an representative, this paper Comprehensively apply knowledge in various fields such as architecture, sociology, economics to analyse major problems and contradictions confronted in small towns protection and development.The author analyzes the theories and methods of both inland and overseas , and summarizes their commonness and existing insufficiency,which provides reference for the practical protection work of small towns. on the base of the above the author discusses the strategic value of small towns protection. Then, combining with"Organic Renewal","Small scale Self-help Renovation"and"Community Cooperation Renewal", such successful theories and methods with small towns protection, broadens and deepens their connotation. Finally it explores specific methods in small towns protection and development.This paper consists of five parts:In the first part, the reason, purpose, significance, content, methods, study framework for research and related concepts are concisely stated.In the second part, present condition and key problem of the protection and development to this research are analysed generally.The second part of the thesis is the theory research and the strategy research.The forth part take the example of LangLi town,MuYun town and PingTang town to express a detailed explanation of methods in its protection and development.Part V sums up of the full text, and prospects the further research.Through studies, we conclude that if the protection and development of small towns is to be closely integrated and a dialectical unity of protection and development is to be achieved, we must intergrate small towns overall protection, the economic development, and the social progress, and continuie the original landscape features of the small towns to the greatest degree .
