This work is supported by a key technology research project in Chongqing entitled"Research on Measurement Model and Network Application to Construction Cost Index System in Chongqing"(No. 17 in [2005]).The construction cost index numbers is the application of the index number theory in respect of construction, which reflects the level of variation in terms of holistic construction cost (namely total worth), the product price and the amount of items in different stages of the construction project. It also the ratio of targets of different stage (namely report period) and certain stage. The index presented in different stage makes up sequence of time number, which not only can reflect the trend and width of variation as well as the supply-demand relation and production capability development level but also can make out variation discipline of cost index by using some technique concerned. So that the relatively accurate cost level in different time can be estimated, which can be valuable reference in terms of budgetary estimation in project investment, project biding, economic cost analysis and management improvement.Since the new order of socialist market economy is established and the further reform of market price system deepens, all essentials that makes up project price change, which leads the fluctuation in project cost and brings about difficulties in rationale determination and control of project cost. So the project cost should be dynamic management.However, because of the developing limit of index theory especially perplex of calculation method in integration index, the construction cost index can not well and truly reflect practical situation in terms of construction application. So it is urgent to do more accurate calculation in integration index of different goods and to do the further research in construction cost index measurement model.This topic presents full and accurate research in index theory, and comprehensive analysis of the structural characteristics and their errors for all typical index model. For integration index measurement model in different product groups, the thesis provides a specific solution in Construction Quantity List Standard and the specific measurement model and the interpretation for all kinds of construction cost index by using mathematic method.The thesis is about the items blow:①Conception, classification and the organizational method of index number;②The history of index theory from Laspeyres(Paasche)index number model, Fisher ideal index number model and function index number model to index number system theory of socialism countries and its covariation factors analysis;③Analysis on index number errors and the appraising criterion will figure out the errors in index number model mentioned before and will provide the appraising criterion of index number formulae;④Studies on the cause of the errors and the application type can make out the interpretation of calculating formulation on integration index number;⑤To take the research in the cope of constructional project cost index number, the measurement model and application, set up the constructional project cost index number system and make out the cost index of decoration project, installation project , city planning project and virescence project;⑥To bring about further expectation of the direction of constructional project cost index number system calculation.
