| To be successful in this globally competitive, rapid changing environment, organization must formulate strategic plans that are consistent with other organization in the supply chain and use of supply chain contracts that match product characteristic. This study proposes that organizations that in the supply chain will choose the better contract that matches product characteristic. In order to verify these arguments, the questionnaire survey is widely employed in this paper. First, after checking the international and domestic documents, the valuable measures for product characteristic are summarized. With five-point Likert scale, the elementary scales are generated. Therefore, with the survey consist of the elementary scales, the pilot study is carried out. Through the results from the pilot study, the scales of product characteristic are rectified and modified. The reliability and validity of the survey are improved. Then, the large-sample survey is proceeded. Using the result from a large-sample survey, this study develops valid and reliable measures of product characteristic. The results of AMOS show that the relations between product characteristic and supply chain contracts are formed to be statistically significant and positive. But the results of AMOS also show that three dimensions of product characteristic are formed to be statistically significant but not positive. It is no doubt that the research results will propel the wide use of the empirical research in the enterprises operations management. Furthermore, it will provide the reference guide for the relative research. |
