In the knowledge economy times, The environment for the development of science-and-technology-based SMEs(Small and Medium-sized Enterprises) is more complex and full of uncertain challenges. Solely rely on internal resources to obtain a competitive advantage has become increasingly difficult. social capital which featured mainly as networks, trust and cognition becomes a new form of capital and a new theoretical perspective, which has important significance for the interpretation of science-and-technology-based SMEs'technological innovation behaviour.Base on the research of relevant literatures, this paper supposed a conceptual model between corporate social capital and technological innovation behaviour.Using a social capital framwork, this paper identified structual, relational and cognitive dimention of social capital. By the Questionnaire and empirical analysis , the paper draws some conclusions as follows:a) The level of structual, relational and cognitive dimention of social capital have positive effects on external innovative cooperation of science-and-technology-based SMEs, social capital promote the external innovative cooperation activities.b) The level of structual, relational and cognitive dimention of social capital have positive effects on internal technological innovation supportive behaviour of science-and-technology-based SMEs, social capital is benefit for the perfection of internal innovation supportive system.c) The positive effect of structual dimension of social capital on technological innovation investing behaviour of science-and-technology-based SMEs had not received strongly empirical confirmation, this need further research to make the result more clearly.
