A Study On The Adjustment Of Leave System Policy And The Inhabitant's Travelling Behaviors In Shanghai

Leisure time is one of the important factors which influence citizen's travel behaviors. At the new century, the sustainable increasing of domestic citizen's income has promoted their desires to go travelling. While the imperfection of vocational system, especially the lack of paid vocational system have restricted the citizen's traveling transformation. Since the Jan, 1st, 2008, the new measures on having a holiday for National Annual Leaves and Memorial Days came into being.The new leave system conducted in 2008 has not only made the total vocational time of the citizens account for 1/3 of the year time, but also formulates a new leave system model of "1+2+5+43" with Chinese characteristics. The adjustment of national leave system changes the structure and length of the citizen's leisure time. The adjustment of leave structure will definitely has important impact on citizens' traveling behaviors. It is very valuable to study citizens' traveling trend and characteristics so as to make strategic guideline for the government and to realize the traveling market development and integration of tourism enterprises.In this paper, the author selected Shanghai residents as study samples. The author aims to discuss the influence of adjustment of leave system on residents' travel behaviors by combining the theory with practice as well as qualitative with quantitative methods. After the discussion, the author tried to figure out the specific influence and reasons. Based on this research, the author selected previous researches on Shanghai citizens' traveling behaviour, and adopted comparative analysis to put forward corresponding suggestions and solutions to the changed characteristics, trend, and reason after the adjustment of leave system. It is expected to provide valuable suggestion to the balance of tourism market structure, the development and integration of tourism market and the strategic adjustment of tourism enterprises. At the same time, it is also expected to promote the research process of related problems.This paper consists of 5 chapters. The first chapter is the introductory part. It systematically generalizes the research questions, research significance, methods, contents and research reviews. The second chapter centers on the development of leave system. The author briefly analyzes the development process of leave system at home and abroad and the evolution of travelling behaviours of Shanghai residents. The third chapter elaborated the influence of adjustment of leave system on shanghai residents' traveling behaviours. Based on the research of the second chapter, combining the empirical research questionnaires carried out among Shanghai residents, the author points out the specific performance of travelling behaviour changes and its main reasons through the overall analysis of research results and the comparisons of group differences after exploring the influence of adjustment of vocational system on Shanghai residents' traveling plan. The fourth chapter compared the different traveling behaviour of Shanghai citizens at different periods and its influential factors. This paper selects the research results on traveling behaviour of Shanghai residents at different periods and summarizes the general characteristics of travel behaviour evolution of Shanghai residents and analyzes its reasons and future developing trend. In the final chapter, the author put forward suggestions and expectations. A series of relevant suggestions and countermeasures are provided in this chapter to adapt to the new vocational system.
