The excessive growth of medical cost and the way to control the excessive growth of medical costs have become one of the common problems that all countries in the world are facing with, and increasingly become a hot spot of research.This paper analyses the current status of China's Medical consumption, through a large amount of data in recent years, pointing out the increase of China's consumer demand for medical services, the health care expenditure of total and per head year by year. Meanwhile China's medical insurance system reform going forward and the medical insurance coverage expanding improved the overall consumption of medical residents' fairness effectively. However, there are still some prominent problems such as the excessive growth of medical expenses, the imperfect of medical insurance system and the relative lack of health care in our country.From the perspective of economic, This paper elaborates the influence the characteristics of the medical consumption and medical insurance system have on medical consumption, pointing out that medical insurance cost-sharing on the one hand, enhances the consciousness of people's investing in the health; on the other hand, restricts the supply-side of (medical institutions), effectively reduce the unreasonable medical consumption. However, the uncertainty of medical consumer and the asymmetrical information are likely to lead to the supply-induced demand in the process of medical consumption, the involvement of the medical insurance system to a certain extent will reduce the impact the price of medical products have on consumer demand, but it may also lead to moral hazard, which in turn leads to excessive demand for medical resources, as well as the unfairness of consumption of medical resources. Finally, this paper also analyses the impact China's basic medical insurance system reform have on the health care expenditure and medical consumption structure of residents, combined with a discussion on the imperfect of health insurance system in China and the problem of the medical consumer demand can not be transformed into effective demand, in conclusion served with a number of recommendations to the problems above.
