A Study On Rural Tourism Development Of Shanxi Province

Rural tourism, derived from Europe in the 19th century, has been a mature form of travel product in western developed countries. While rural tourism in our country began in the 50's of the 20th century, therefore, the whole development of rural tourism is slow. With the improvement of people's life standard and the hastiness of life tempo, urban inhabitants badly need back to the nature to relax. The exploitation of rural tourism fits in with the needs of the age and rural tourism rapidly develops as an important part of national tourism and rural economy.The rural tourism resources in Shanxi Province are very rich, it offer the essential condition for the development of Shanxi Province. In rural areas of Shanxi Province that are far away from cities, there exist many villages where there are graceful scenic spots and high visit values, old buildings and old folk houses that there are high architectural and artistic values. And also there exist peculiar local customs, such as rural festivals. But because rural tourism of Shanxi Province starts later, most of rural tourism resources are in the undeveloped condition. So far, Shanxi Province has not inquired all the provincial rural tourism resources thoroughly, so it is not clear about the numbers of these resources. In recent years, Shanxi Province has also developed some rural tourism scenic spots, but most of these scenic spots are in the elementary development condition, and basically their main type of products is traditional sightseeing. The rural tourism products that can satisfy tourists'needs, have the meaning of participating in the experience, holidays and leisure travel, scientific expedition and seeking knowledge are nearly a blank. So, studying the development of Shanxi Province rural tourism is very important for utilizing Shanxi rural tourism resources rationally, realizing the adjustment of Shanxi tourism industry construction and socialist new village constructions.On the basis of collecting relative data and doing fieldwork, this thesis analyzes the development of rural tourism of Shanxi Province using SWOT, and on the basis of estimating comprehensively the rural tourism resources of Shanxi Province, this thesis analyzes the present condition and existing main problems of development of Shanxi rural tourism, and mainly puts on the principle and strategic concept that the development of Shanxi rural tourism should follow. This thesis includes seven parts: the first is the preface; the second is the SWOT analysis of development of Shanxi rural tourism; the third is comprehensive evaluation of Shanxi rural tourism resources; the fourth is the present condition of development and existing main problems of Shanxi rural tourism; the fifth is the principle that the development of Shanxi rural tourism should follow; the sixth is strategic concept of hastening the development of Shanxi rural tourism; the seventh is the conclusion.I hope that the study of this thesis can play some part of directing in the practice of developing Shanxi rural tourism.
