With the open policy of retail trade, it has become the most animate industry which develops the fastest in China which turns into the weatherglass of Chinese economic development. However, compared with the retail trade abroad which has existed for more than one hundred years, the retail trade in China is still in its primary state which needs more efforts. Among them, the region general merchandise companies face many problems in their net work expansion and scale management process with the large settlement of foreign companies and big retail companies.The thesis gives an introduction on retail trade theory, analyzes retail trade in the opening process and the competition situation in the development of region general merchandise companies, applies related theories, summarizes and analyzes the problems in the scale management of region general merchandise companies, brings forward the slogan of"region advantage, region master", which is the bottleneck problem in the management development and the key choice of expanding strategic program, standardization management and e-business running in solving the developing problems in region general merchandise companies.
