This thesis paper is a study on data analysis and model research on transfer of rural surplus labors in Chongqing. The main objective is to analyze the present status of transfer of rural surplus labors, to quantitatively study the contribution of transfer of rural labors to economic growth, to empirically find the determining and restraint factors on urban-rural return migration and to put forward some suggestions to promote transfer of rural surplus labors in Chongqing.Based on the survey of relevant theoretical literature on transfer of rural labors, the thesis paper analyses the status of transfer of rural surplus labors in Chongqing through summarizing the amount, incomes and characteristics of rural surplus labors transferred, and then sums up the issues in transfer of rural surplus labors. The results show although rural surplus labors in rural areas of Chongqing on an unprecedented scale and speed from agricultural to non-agricultural industries, and from rural to urban areas to transfer, in transfer-process, however, there are still many issues that must be resolved, such as most rural surplus labors with low quality of culture and lack of professional skills, oversupply of labor and obvious contradiction between supply and demand, low degree of organization of transfer of labor employment, extremely weak local employment absorption capacity, imperfect laws and regulations, and very difficult to effectively protect the legitimate rights and interests of migrant workers.Utilizing data on Chongqing Statistical Yearbook, the paper analyzes the contribution of transfer of rural surplus labors to economic growth though choosing allocation of labor resources model. The results show that the transfer of agricultural surplus labors of Chongqing has a great role in promoting society-wide labor productivity and economic growth.Through the analysis of push-pull factors in rural migration return, this paper studies the causes of rural migration return. And then on the base of first-hand information of Chongqing, this paper analyses the influence of personal characteristics, family factors and agricultural policies on migration returns. The result shows the individual differences of urban-rural labors, such as gender, education level, marital status and working life have direct influences on the scale of urban-rural labors return in Chongqing, and obvious large-scale entrepreneurship trend in their hometown has not yet evident, and family factors, such as taking care of children, the elderly, are main factors on urban-rural return migration, and agricultural policies contribute to attention to the land, but the implementation of agricultural policies is far from to the main reason for urban-rural return migration.At last, this paper puts forward many corresponding approaches about the transfer of rural surplus labors to city concerning such aspects as strengthen the rural social services, improve the land transfer system, strengthen the training on the rural surplus labors, vigorously develop labor-intensive enterprises, accelerate the reform of Rural-Urban Dual Economy and improve the management of rural labors.
