After development of more than 20 years, China's motorcycle industry has passed the developmental period, growing period and expansion period, and it is conversing profound changes from a large motorcycle output country to a powerful technology one. During China's motorcycle successive changes, Chongqing's motorcycle enterprises have played a very important role. Chongqing has constituted the three major domestic motorcycle plates with Guangdong and Zhejiang provinces. At the same time, Chongqing motorcycle enterprises should pay attention to explore their own advantages for a prominent place in the country and abroad, and remain relatively stable to continue to move forward when the three strong brands enter.. All these are dependent on the building of core competence.This paper comes from the theory of core competence. It analyzed the constitution of motorcycle enterprises with the actual analysis of the motorcycle enterprises, and made a triangular frame model to support the building of core competence. Next, the text analyzed the strategy of patent strategy and intellectual property and its importance for the enterprise's overall strategy. The text also analyzed the importance of cooperation with innovation and its meaning for building and upgrading the core competence. It also analyzed the current situation of Chongqing motorcycle enterprises to reflects the importance of this research.In the text of the specific modalities of patent strategy, it took Chongqing Jianshe Industry Group as an example. It used Poter's five forces model to analyze the situation they are facing to, and put forward corresponding patent strategies.
