Outdoor advertising is booming along the continuous developing of urban economic. It is a product of economical development, a material form of urban landscape, an important performance of city image. Mountain cities have uneven terrain so that they have different urban visual effects. As a result, it is important to set up outdoor advertising suitably in the mountain cities. Moreover, it should consider that setting outdoor advertising also needs reasonable nightscape effects.Outdoor advertising planning and lighting effects are always considered in the urban planning and urban nightscape planning. Though some cities have drafted management ordinances, technical requirements and overall planning recent years, the customized researches still lack especially in the mountain cities. Consequently, this thesis is planning to research outdoor advertising planning and lighting of mountain cities.Chongqing have drafted'Chongqing Outdoor Advertising Overall Planning'along several other cities have drafted in our country. This thesis sums up the achievement at the basis of the overall planning. Moreover, it also researches the outdoor advertising lighting of mountain cities. There are several aspects:①At the basis of overall planning, combining of the mountain city theory, sums up the overall arrangement, setting types and setting requirements of mountain cities'outdoor advertising. In the achievements, it puts forward the requirement of setting according to the Line Density, provides the quantities to the outdoor advertising which areas are more than 50 m2. It also has some requirements to set up outdoor advertising in the different urban visual forms.②On the basis of people's perception, after the observing and studying, provides questionnaires to survey. At the same time, measures environmental luminance, background luminance and target luminance. At last, author combined of subjective evaluations, environmental luminance, background luminance and target luminance to do quantitative studies.③Combining of different visual effects in the mountain cities, researches and determinates luminance correction to the different observation points of cool and warm colors outdoor advertising. Moreover, according to divide different background luminance ranks, provides luminance values in the different lighting effects. Study on outdoor advertising planning and lighting of mountain cities is an uninformed factor in the environmental landscape design. This thesis which summarizes the planning achievements and provides the luminance values, hopes to be helpful to the applications and researches in future.
