Practice Study On Supply Chain Management In Company A

Nowadays, the competition in the market is no longer a single competition among enterprises, but the supply chain competition. Making more efforts to strengthen the Supply Chain Management (SCM) has become one of key strategies for enterprises to enhance their competitive advantage.Base on the theories of supply chain management, this thesis chooses Company A as the object of study, which is one of the largest medium voltage switchgear manufacturers in the world. After introducing successful experiences in the supply chain management of Company A, this thesis also raised some of main problems, and then work out improvement methods.This thesis is divided into below four chapters.ChapterⅠintroduces the basic theory of supply chain management. This chapter mainly describes six concepts: Supply Chain, Supply Chain Management, Enterprise Resource Planning, Vendor Management, Inventory Management and Inventory Management System.ChapterⅡintroduces and analyzes the situation of supply chain management in Company A, which includes five major segments: inside process, vendor, inventory, distributor and customer. Finally, this chapter raises three main problems of the supply chain management in Company A: vendor management problem, inventory management problem, and supply chain process management problem.ChapterⅢanalyzes the above three problems of the supply chain management in Company A and work out related solutions: how to strengthen vendor management and inventory management, and how to improve supply chain process management.ChapterⅣis the conclusion, which summarizes the study issues and the solutions to improve supply chain management of Company A, and then propose some outlook for next study.
