A Study On Hotel Business Model Based On The Change Of Information Technology

Hotel industry is a traditional industry. The application of information technology to hotel industry is drop behind other industries, especially our domestic hotel industry. Now, the low level price competition due to an excess of similar business models still exists in our domestic hotel industry. Hotels should apply information technology to transform their business models to win the competition. Through the analysis of hotel operating environment and enterprise value system, this paper analyzes the elements and the core elements of the hotel business model based on Weng Junyi's Business Model Theory, and proposes the typical hotel business model based on the change of information technology.The first chapter of this paper describes the research background, methodology and concepts, technical structure and research significance of this study. The second chapter reviews the domestic and foreign business model theories, and introduces the concept of the business model——the organic composition of various elements to create and achieve value. The third chapter proposes the elements and the core elements of hotel business model based on the analysis of operating environment, enterprise value system and the impact of the change of information technology on them, which serves as a prerequisite basis for the study of hotel business model based on the change of information technology. The fourth chapter takes a closer look at the issue of typical hotel business model based on the change of information technology, analyzes the hotel business models in different phases of hotel industry applies information technology and sums up the development rules of it. The fifth chapter presents a case study of Hilton to further illustrate the issue of typical hotel business model based on the change of information technology. This chapter analyzes the elements of Hilton business model and explains the main conclusion.The innovation of this paper are use interface to reconstruct the hotel operating environment and analyze the impact of the change of information technology on hotel operating environment. It also breaks down the hotel enterprise value system and identifies hotel customer value and hotel enterprise value are the most important parts of the hotel value system. The paper also identifies the core elements based on an analysis of the hotel business model elements. Lastly, this paper proposes typical hotel business model based on the change of information technology and sums up the development rules of it. The main conclusion of this paper is the hotel should apply information technology to the core elements of hotel business model, which are hotel service, customer relation management, human resource management, marketing strategy and distributor choice. However, this paper lacks quantitative analysis of degree of the information technology application enhances the hotel value.
