In the demand-driven market, distribution network becomes an important part of a supply chain. The paper discusses about the network design in fast moving consuming goods of IT industry (ITFMCG) in four aspects: setting up a guideline system for the distributor evaluating, selecting the methods of how to evaluate distributors, describing the characters of the distributor network and building up a multi-objective decision making problem for the distribution network design, using heuristic algorithm to slove the problem. At the beginning, the paper expatiates the meaning of research on distribution network design, and particularly introduces works on distribution network design in china and abroad until recently. Then puts forwards the contents and meaning of the thesis. In the main part of this paper, the problem is discussed in four aspects. Firstly, the paper sets up a guideline system for the distributor evaluation in ITFMCG based on the investigation and the conclusion about the experience of channel management. Further more, it gives out the explanation of these guidelines in detail. Secondly, the paper discusses the distributor evaluation problem based on the methods of analytic hierarchy process (AHP) and back propagation neural network. Thirdly, based on the study of correlative literatures and the analyzing on the experiences of channel management, this paper gives out the characters and functions of the distribution network, the elements contained in the network, the distribution models and the structures of the distribution network in ITFMCG. At last, the paper discusses the optimization of distribution network design together with the manufacture's policy on the sales. Based on the distributor selection, the thesis builds up a multi-objective decision making problem, which concludes four goals: the costs, the quantity of sales, the distribution time and the speed of sales. The method of Genetic Algorithm (GA) is used to solve this problem, and AHP is used to evaluate the results. By comparing with the method of linear programming, the thesis verifies the efficiency of this method. In the end, the paper summarizes the whole work. Insufficiency of research on this thesis is pointed out, and future work on distributor selection and distribution network design is described briefly.
