With further integration of world economy, the relationship between culture and economy has become much closer. As an important power, Small&Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) are bringing into play a more and more important role. If they can succeed in the international commerce are mostly determined by the successful cross-cultural management.In this paper, I make a theoretical discussion on how to make successful cross-cultural management and how to evaluate the cross-cultural management performance of the SMEs in international commerce. Fist, I review the internal and overseas research actuality about cross-cultural management, and analyze the blind spot of the research works. Second, I analyze the characters of the SMEs in international commerce. Third, I abstract some behaves of cross-cultural conflicts, analyze the causations, and conclude some effective cross-cultural management measures. Then, I try to construct a model to evaluate the cross-cultural management performance of the SMEs by five aspects, because I find that there are few researches on the management performance in the field of cross-cultural management. At last, I use the model which is built in this paper to evaluate the cross-cultural management performance of a company in Nanjing, analyze the result, and find some deficiencies and point out some solutions.I hope that research in this thesis will be helpful in enriching the strategies in the cross-field about cross-cultural management and management performance appraisement, and will give SMEs the guidance in the practices in international commerce.
