"The Strategy of Tobacco Digitalization" proposes that subsidiaries and local management level should follow the strategic instructions by headquarters to made day to day operational plans of digitalization and to speed the construction of the Management Information System. Zunyi Tobacco Inc is one of the 5 largest tobacco companies in China. The digitalization is a critical element in strategy for "eleventh five-year plan" of Zunyi Tobacco Inc".The thesis presents digitalization solutions for Zunyi Tobacco by researching a great number of academic papers and gathering abundant information. The research describes the location, geography, climates, economic factors and industry background, illustrates the theory of Zunyi Tobacco digitalization and analyzes the current situation and problems in digitalization. By conducting SWOT analysis, the thesis figures out four strengths: the attention of management, vision and great goals, abundant capital, speeding investment, managerial infrastructure improvement; three weaknesses: the inability of mid-level and low level managers, the lack of understanding by all employees, weak IT human resource, potential danger in management; five opportunities: good environment, the progress of the society, the headquarter's pilot site, the replacement of former leaders, the improvement of service; and six threatens from: suppliers, the upper ladder, inside of the organization, other stakeholders, the security system and the competition. The research proposes principals, policies and technology requirements in digitalization and underscores that Zunyi Tobacco Inc should build up its business functions system and the portal by understanding the strategic objectives and goals of headquarter in e-public management, e-business and decision making system. With the use of IMM (information maturity model), the thesis recommends the staged objectives and goals in system integration, management enhancement, strategic support and consecutive improvement. It also recommends an implementation plan of system building and integration, the security system and the IT human resource management. It proposes four necessary ensurence measures of Zunyi Tobacco's digitalization: emphasis from all employees, leadership from top, team and organization building, and digitalization culture cultivation.The research proposes that Zunyi tobacco digitalization project would take 3 years and correspond to overall goal, staged goals, main tasks, tactics and steps, that the system terminals should be based on information kinko construction, that CIO plays the vital role, cooperated by management, information staff and all employees, and that organization construction should focus on consulting and building.
