The domestic chain-supermarkets started at 90s last century. Especially since China joined WTO, She cancelled some limited terms which limit foreign companies to come in, which fastened the speed of the economy globlized. Retailers of supermarkets such as Wal-mart and Carrefour have gradually boomed everywhere in big or small cities in China. Chinese economy has been developing very fast since the beginning of the 21st century. Chinese people's living level makes great progress and the domestic chain-supermarkets have been enlarging their scopes. The number of the supermarkets increases very fast, which make the competition more and more among supermarkets.It is very difficult for retailers of supermarkets to form a differential strategy, so it is very difficult for them to gain advantage in the competition. The quality and price of the commodity are two important key factors in the supermarkets operating, as well as the service. What's more, people gradually look great upon the service. It is the promotion that combined the two factors of quality and price. Promotion plays an important role in the supermarket operating. As one of the four factors of the marketing management, promotion is an important tool in the supermarket operating and often used by all managers of supermarkets. But it is not sure that managers of the supermarkets could get to their aims through promotion, and it is not sure that they could improve their performance and increase their economic effects through promotion. Because price is the most sensitive of the four factors of the marketing management, it is used more frequently than others, which makes the profits of the supermarkets decrease very fast, so some middle or small supermarkets are getting harder and harder in their operating.According to the situation at present, I will do some work on the research of the promotion strategy of Silver Plaza Supermarket through the knowledge I learned in the Management School of Shandong University. The tools here I will use is questionnaire papers. I do hope my research result can help Silver Plaza improve its performance and increase economic effects. Here I will thank school and my company, because I would not finish my three-year school studying without their support and help.The research method of this paper is to gain consumers' data through questionnaire. Then I will use analytical tools I learned in school to do research on the data. Through the research, we can learn which kind of promotions is welcomed or not.
