Research On The Difference Between The Consumption Of Urban And Rural Residents In Guangdong Province

With the advent of the 30th years of reform and opening up ,as the forerunner of this policy, Guangdong, rapid economic development have taken place, tremendous economic development of urban and rural have been seen . However, many disharmony and imbalance phenomenon were still existed in the process of economic development. "Richest people are in Guangdong, which have the poorest as well." This idiom vividly described the imbalance phenomenon in regional development in Guangdong. Towns and rural areas showed a significant difference in the aspect of consumption, too. Thus, research and analysis consumption difference between urban and rural residents and to explore measures to narrow the differences, farther guiding and promoting urban and rural residents improve their consumption quality and level continually, which have a great significance to the economic development of Guangdong Province.With the research data from Guangdong Province, this thesis described the difference between urban and rural residents of consumption function and consumption structure; analyzed the main course of impact on that difference between urban and rural residents in Guangdong Province; farther discussed the result of the difference and the countermeasure to shorten the difference.The conclusion of the research as follows:1. Long-run equilibrium existed in both urban and rural people's income and consumption structure and rural residents need and the correlation between consumption demand and income more significantly, both the long-term or short-term revenue growth have stimulated the consumption demand of rural residents obviously, but in the town, long-term policy is more effective.2 .For the long time, since the consumption rate of rural residents continued to drop, rate of the Guangdong Province dropped accordingly .Therefore, improving the consumption level of rural residents has an enormous role in pushing forward the economic development of Guangdong, we must take measures to improve rural people's consumption level, consequently narrow the consumption difference between urban and rural.3. Difference between urban and rural consumption structure is that the gross consumption number of the rural population are far below the standards of urban residents; cultural and educational supplies and services for the entertainment of urban consumer dumping margins are far higher than rural residents, which reflects the urban residents emphasis on education and pursuit of high quality of life. If only we realize this difference can we better improve the consumption structure and advance the economy healthy development.
