A Study On The Construction Of Aviation Security Inspector's Competency Model In Central And Southern China

This paper is based on core competence model of competency, describes the origin, definitions and research approaches of competency theory, and introduces the concept about core competence theory.It discusses the relationship of competency, and competency model, retrospects to the research results of official competency theory both within China and abroad, explores how to design competence model of working in the organizations.Some people devote their attentions to the research of competency model in recent years. Every researcher conducts research with specific direction in their research fields by using different means and terms and gets special research results. It is the enterpriser, middle-level managers and core employees that pay more attention to the model. But the competency model of aviation security inspector gets little attention. This paper aims at providing assistance to the recruitment, training, promotion and performance appraisal of security inspector by researching competencies most needed in their work.This study takes the security inspector with a organization in central and southern China as survey objectives. In the study the survey is carried out by taking the methods of questionnaires, in-depth interview and job description. Through conducting quantitative and qualitative analysis, it finally arrives at how to establish the structure of Safety inspectors' competency model.
