| Industry agglomeration, a form of industry organizing, has a significant function on promoting regional economic development in the way of agglomeration effects. However, the academic and empirical research in this field is comparatively rare. In the background of revitalizing the old industrial bases in Northeast region, the construction of industry clusters is enhanced in Heilongjiang province. Therefore, the research on how industry agglomeration influence and promote regional economic growth is important for both theory and practice.Based on analyses of overseas and domestic theories and references, firstly, the industry agglomeration status in Heilongjiang Province is introduced from different points of view. LQ is selected from several means to calculate the industry agglomeration degree of Heilongjiang Province and then the advantages and problems of the industry agglomeration in Heilongjiang are farther analyzed. Secondly, several industries with higher agglomeration degree are selected and correlation between industry agglomeration and regional economic growth is studied using regression analysis. A regression model of economic aggregates and a few agglomeration indexes is built. The similarity and differences of these industries is concluded. Thirdly, a route of how industry agglomeration promotes regional economic growth is produced. In order to explain it farther and clearly, on making reference to Marshall's classical theory on industry agglomeration, the analysis is divided into three parts: economy of scale effect, knowledge spillover effect and the centralization of elements and relative industries. Econometric analysis and some examples support the analysis. Finally, on considering the special form and the problems of agglomeration in Heilongjiang Province, policy recommendations on promoting industry agglomeration are put forward. |
