Research Of Construction Project Quality Management Based On Quality Chain

Quality is the main method by which construction companies gain advantages from fierce competition in the market; also it reflects developing level of the economy and technology of a nation. Theory of industrial engineering has made remarkable contribution to the manufacturing industry of the world. As one of the most important branch, contemporary quality management theory has made great progress too. It has become a research hotspot to the academia and business that how to apply contemporary quality management theory to construction industry.This article introduces concepts of construction project quality, forming process, influencing factors and its characteristics. Also it explains the development and intension of quality chain theory. Then construction project quality management based on quality chain is brought up, which forms basic framework of construction project quality chain.From a microcosmic angle, it analyses work processes that are basic unit of quality chain after project network and two quality-concepts are imported. We bring up Critical Quality Chain (CQC) diagnosis method, which draws lessons from other diagnosis methods——control chart and two process capabilities indexes. CQC diagnosis method gives us a new method to look for critical process to improve on a quality chain. In addition, this article analyses relationships among the three most important control objects of construction project management, then build up quality chain optimization model in which time and costs are considered.From a macroscopic angle, it introduces the present situation of quality management of supply chain, quality chain management, total quality management and their relationships. Based on quality chain management theory, we bring up a closed-circle construction project quality chain model in which construction companies are the core. At last, we discuss the feasibilities and advantages of construction project quality chain management under innovated construction models——virtual construction and partnering.
