The Research Of Supply Chain Management And Coordination

Supply chain (SC) is a typical system and needs to be coordinated, so One of the important parts of SCM is to coordinate various links of a supply chain(SC). Coordination is viewed as important means of SC's firmness and operation and has attracted broad attention of academia. Deep analysis and systematic study on coordination in SCM are of great significance in theory and practice.This dissertation began with the research on supply chain (SC). Based on analyzing and summarizing of domestic and foreign literature on SCM, this dissertation studies the researching theoretically coordination in SCM from three aspects: strategic alternatives of SC coordination, SC coordination based on partnership, and performance measurement of SC coordination, and arrives at some useful conclusions. Finally it explained in details the application of SC to the enterprise by giving an example from Motorola SC management.The main points of the paper are as follows:(1) The paper illustrates the research result in each field and the prime existing problems of research on SCM, and list the filed which will be studied in this paper.(2) The definitions of SC and SCM are given respectively. This paper summaries the key elements of SCM and the existing pitfalls in SCM today. Classifying SC coordination, analyzes, concludes and each research result.(3) Three strategic alternatives of SC coordination, which are"forming SC partnerships","adopting vertical integration"and"establishing incentive mechanism", are presented, and each strategy is discussed particularly.(4) Based on the supply chain's development, research and problems in the practice, the concept of performance measurement of SC coordination is given. A performance measurement index system of synthetic coordination of SC is established, and involved measures are quantified. Finally, the paper discusses methods of performance measurement of SC coordination and their applications.(5) The dissertation analyzes a real case that Motorola how to operate the supplier chain management, which may be very helpful to evaluate the performance of supply chain's companies.
