The Analysis Of FDI Environment In Ningbo

Improving the regional climate of foreign investment needs comprehensive cooperation and systematic planning across all the relative departments.Only if the local resources, the status and trend of city development and the motives of the foreign investors combined perfectly can the foreign investment be attracted. Therefore, improving the foreign investment environment plays a key role in attracting FDI.The research object of this paper is the environment of FDI in Ningbo. First, the author analyses the countries or regions, the structure of industries, the investment type and the project scale of the Ningbo FDI. Secondly, the author gives a qualitative analysis of macro and micro FDI environment of Ningbo, including natural conditions, infrastructure, economy development and policies and so on. Thirdly, the author makes a conclusion of the strengths, weaknesses,opportunities and threats of FDI environment of Ningbo adopting the analyzing way of SWOT. Fourthly, the author forms an evaluation model and makes a comprehensive evaluation of the FDI environment in Ningbo, including the hard environment and soft environment. In the end, the author presents the main problems and disadvantages of Ningbo FDI environment and gives some relevant solutions and suggestions.According to the conclusion of the paper research, the major advantages of Ningbo in FDI environment rest on its fine geographical location,communication and transportation facilities.the openness of economy, systematic structure of industries and its predominant industries. The greatest disadvantages oriented from its lackage of land, the shortage of electric power and high-class human resources. The results of the analyzing show that the scores of the hard environment, soft environment and the comprehensive environment is 3.661, 3.612 and 3.614 respectively, above the middle level .As a whole, the FDI environment of Ningbo is favorable and be suitable for the investment of multinational companies.Based on the environment evaluation model which was formed according to the survey, this paper gives a full, deep and impersonal analysis of the FDI environment of Ningbo by way of SWOT analysis adopting both the methods of qualitative analysis and quatitative analysis. In order to improve the FDI environment of Ningbo it also gives some suggestions as references to other similar cities.
