A Perspective Of Affecting Factors Of Place Selection: Leisure Behavior Of City Residents In Outskirts

With the development of economy and the increase of leisure hours, leisure has been fast developing at home and abroad. Western developed countries entering into an age of leisure, China will be approaching into the leisure time. As a thriving form of leisure, leisure in outskirts of cities has appeared and been developing to a primary stage. Therefore, making s study of leisure behavior of citizens, the principal participants of leisure activities in outskirts, is of great significance to reveal the general characteristics of leisure activities and expand the leisure market in outskirtsIn this thesis, a combination of the following fundamental theories is used :marketing segmentation, consumer behavior ,central place theory , recreational belt around the metropolis and place attachment; an integration of theoretical and empirical researching approach is adopted; An insight of affecting factors of place selection into leisure behavior of citizens is offered, on which tourists are classified, outskirts leisure market is segmented and the characteristics and differences of leisure behavior of citizens in outskirts are generalized.This thesis contains 5 chapters.The first chapter is to introduce the research background, motives and significance, in which literature concerning the developments of leisure research home and abroad is reviewed, the framework and the technical approach to research is designed.The second chapter is to elaborate the fundamental principles and researching approach, in which some concepts are defined, and some well-developed theories and methods are introduced from other disciplines to pave a solid way for this research.The third chapter is to systematically analyze the leisure behavior of citizens in outskirts from the angle of affecting factors of place selection, in which the system of tourist guest source, supporting system and destination system are chosen to design the forty three affecting factors of leisure place selection.The fourth chapter is to conduct an empirical study of outskirts leisure behavior of citizens of Changsha. Questionnaires are conducted to obtain rich data, on which the general characteristics and differences of leisure behavior of citizen in outskirts are analyzed and generalized.The fifth chapter is to summarize the thesis, in which main conclusions are delivered and some propositions are put forward. In addition, the research results, innovations and practical values are generalized while some limitations and worthy research field in the future are mentioned.
