Along with the rapid development of china's economy and it's growing up as a big power, the scope of Chinese group enterprises is quickly expanding and the number of them is also increasing day by day, the group enterprises are facing the gradually fierce competition, which raises great challenge for the group management. Consulting the mastering and controlling situation of 80% of the world 500 top group headquarters, if Chinese enterprises want to bring about influence in the world wide areas, the previous"extensive"management has become the past model. The managing and controlling problems of group companies have become more and more prominent. Especially for the diversified enterprise groups formed during China's special economic development period, through the continuous development and expansion, the managing and controlling difficulty are growing day by day. The enterprise diversified running practice illustrates that not all the enterprises carrying out the diversified operation are having the best benefits, among them, some succeeded and some failed, for example the Giant Group pursued the diversification blindly, it engaged in the computer industry, realty business and health products industry etc, which has no relation with its main work, and at last it failed for its deficiency in managing and controlling of diversification. But this can't totally repudiate the enterprise diversified running strategy. Currently, the emphasis of theoretical study should not be the problem that if the enterprises should take diversified operation or specialized operation, but we should how to manage and control enterprises. A survey carried out by BCG suggested that the business selection of diversified operation has become one of the 7 most urgent help needing operation problems of our enterprises.
