A Preliminary Study On Jiang Zemin's Economic Philosophy

Jiang Zemin's thought on economic philosophy, a most important part of "The Three Represents" theory, is the great theoretical achievement of observing and thinking the major problems appearing in the process of China's reform and opening up and socialist modernization construction, with Comrade Jiang Zemin as its core and Deng Xiaoping theory as its banner. Jiang Zemin's economic philosophical thought is also a scientific theory based on the long-term practice of Reform, opening-up policy and the socialist modernization, which are connected with the characteristics of times and the correct judgments of the status of CPC.This paper mainly discusses three questions of Jiang Zemin's economic philosophical thought from the following two perspectives: notably, (1) the relationship of productive forces and productive relations; (2) the economic basis and overtop structure relationship, both of which are from fundamental Marxism economic philosophy. The three questions are the economic development strategy, the economic restructuring and coordinated development thought of economy- politics- culture. they are elaborated as follows: firstly, based on the theory that productive forces ultimately decide social development, Jiang Zemin proposes three grand strategies:Prospering the Nation with Science and Education,Sustainable Development and Western Development, which take the economic development as the center. Secondly, by using the rule that production relations must adapt to productive forces condition, Jiang Zemin has established the economic structure of the socialist market economic system, with the public ownership system and distribution according to work as its main body, in which diversified economy ingredients and various types of distribution are allowed. In other words, they are the coexisting multi-level economic structures. Thirdly, under the theory that the overtop structure must adapt to the economic basis condition, Jiang Zemin has provided the theory that the socialism material civilization, politics civilization and the spiritual civilization should develop coordinately. He has also established the though that says socialist market economy and legal morals system should be adaptable. In a word, the economic philosophical thought of Jiang Zemin closely keeps pace with the times in practice and is totally for the Chinese. So it can do great contribution not only in theory but also in practice to the construction of the well-to-do society and the harmonious society.The main references of this article are the theories of Jiang Zemin and the important document of CPC, especially the theories after 13 Fourth Plenary Session. This thesis follows the contrast analytic method and I hope it achieves a certain progress in the relative field.
