From the mid-19th century, rural tourism has sequentially developed in many countries and demonstrated strong vitality and potential. In the 1990s, as China's rapid economic development and the accelerated process of urbanization, beautiful rural scenery of"paradise"became popular. Thus, rural tourism close to nature has emerged and developed rapid in the country. Particularly in recent years, China's rural tourism has become a new bright spot. As a new kind of tourism, rural tourism not only demonstrated strong vitality, but also brought varying degrees of impact to the development of the destination, which even led to the destroy of the survival of rural tourism resources. As a result, in some destinations development of rural tourism inevitably triggers contradictions and conflicts among the Tourism Company, government and villagers.Under this situations, from the viewpoint of anthropology, the author takes S Miao folk village of Xiangxi Hunan as an example to start this research paper, conducting field investigations of a series of"conflicts"in the development of rural tourism, with a large number of cases of first-hand data. The research paper mainly analyzes the following questions:First, to interpreter the connotation and relationship between the village and rural tourism; Second, to portray the special resources and the developmental processes of the rural tourism; Third, based on villagers'perspective, the author selects government, tourism company and villagers as the main cores of conflicts, and start analysis of the conflicts between the villagers and government, the villagers and Tourism Company and between the villagers, and then analyze the special relationship between the parties; Fourth, to elaborate the factors of the conflicts from personal factors, factors of tourism destination and social factors; Fifth, based on the above analysis, to put forward the adjustment mechanism of conflict, namely through equal dialogue and mature systems in order to achieve the "restrict" and the "balance" of the conflict with the adjustment model. Finally, to discuss the conflict in the conclusion of the paper, and analyze research trends in the rural tourism destination conflicts.By associated empirical analysis, this paper proved such a fact that the ultimate goal of the development of rural tourism is to pursue the sustainable development of the tourism industry and the harmonious development of the rural areas. However, the core premise to achieve this objective is that we must harmonize the relationship between the main partied in the tourism development and highlight the philosophies–"Dialogue is a prerequisite for development"and harmonious coexistence. One-sided emphasis on the main interest of the Tourism Company, government or local villagers is biased not conducive to the sustainable development. Thus, the case studies of "conflicts" in the paper can provide the reference for the utilization of resources and coordination of the relationship in the development of rural tourism, which have a direct bearing on the normal operation of social life in destination and the healthy development of tourism industry.
