Study Of Agricultural Structure Adjustment In Xinjiang And Its Effect On Economy

Based on the illustration and analysis of the agricultural structure adjustment in Xinjiang since the reform and opening up, by using Granger causality test, this article probed into the relations between the agricultural structure adjustment and the economic growth of agriculture as well as the increase of peasants'income. We come to theses conclusions: first, in the adjustment of agricultural structure in Xinjiang, the extent of the structure adjustment of plant industry is larger than the extent of the structure adjustment of the total output value of agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery. Second, there is no long-term stable balanced relation existing between the broad agricultural structure adjustment index and the total output value of agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery as well as the average net income of rural residents. Third, there is one-way causal relationship existing between the structure adjustment index of plant industry and the total output value of agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery as well as the average net income of rural residents. Besides, for the purpose of knowing the agricultural structure adjustment in Xinjiang better, we made a comparison between the agricultural structure adjustment of Xinjiang and the whole nation, summed up the similarities and differences between the two and analyzed the reasons. On the basis of summarizing the effectiveness and the problems of the agricultural structure adjustment in Xinjiang, we put forward some corresponding suggestions and countermeasures. This article has an important role in the enlightenment to the prospective agricultural structure adjustment in Xinjiang and even in the whole nation.
