The interregional input-output analysis has been one of the most important methods for econometric analysis. It can be used to study the interregional economic relationships and commodity flows.Interregional input-output table is the tool for interregional input-output analysis.Since the direct data doesn't exist,to compile interregional input-output table is not so easy. Therefore, many researchers made efforts to make use of some interregional input-output models to fulfill the task. There have been many interregional input-output models since Isard put forward the Isard-type model at the very beginning in 1951.Among those models,we introduce the three most popular models, which are Isard-type model,Chenery-Moses type model, and Leontief-type model. We also compare the three models with each other, and decide to choose the Chenery-Moses type model to compile the interregional input-output table in this thesis. To estimate the interregional commodity flows between every two regions is the most critical procedure during the entire process of compile interregional input-output table. There are some ways to estimate the interregional commodity flows, too. We present three common ways and discuss their advantages and disadvantages, which are the bases of our choice of the method to estimate the interregional flows. We choose the gravity model to estimate the interregional commodity flows because of its high degree of accuracy and low demand on data.On basis of the theory,we make full use of the accessible data and compile an interregional input-output table consisting of four regions(Beijing,Shanghai,Guangdong and Rest of China) and 18 industry sectors, among which the high-tech industry is the focus of our study.During this process of compilation, there are many technical problems to be dealt with, and we have discussed them in detail.According to the interregional input-output table we have compiled,we calculate some coefficients which are able to reflect the regional and interregional linkages, including regional and interregional influence coefficient, regional and interregional responsibility coefficient and commodity flow coefficient. From these coefficients,we get to know that most of the industries whose commodities are flowing belong to the second sector.Since its greater and greater importance to the economic and social development, the high-tech industry has been picked out as one special industry in our interregional input-output table and research upon it.Among the many issues about high-tech industry,we focus on the choice and construction of high-tech industry Research and Develop hub(R&D hub). After the statistic analysis and econometric analysis based on our interregional input-output table,we conclude that Beijing and Shanghai are mature enough to be the high-tech industry R&D hubs, however,Guangdong is the opposite, even though the production ability of Guangdong is very huge.
