Abstract/Summary:
Corporate social responsibility and social capital are important factors in improving the competitiveness and sustainable development of enterprises. Fulfilling social responsibility will increase the cost of enterprises, and whether the increase in these costs can bring benefits to the enterprise or not is always a concern of many scholars. This paper discusses about how to transfer the fulfills of the corporate social responsibility into corporate social capital, that is, transferring the social responsibility which enterprises fulfill conscientiously into a social capital which can give the corporate an access to scarce resources and enhance their sustainable competitiveness. Trust is the basis for the creation of social capital, and not only the formation of the social capital needs morals like trust, and also its creation needs trust as default resource. At present, enterprises development is following a "mechanical enterprise", "economic enterprises" to a "social enterprise" process, the requirements of the public to enterprises no longer just depend on the satisfaction of basic products and interests, but more depend on whether the enterprise is to meet the public's health, safety and environmental protection needs .Only enterprises with social responsibility can be approved, then be trusted, and their social capital can be increased. The awareness of the corporate social responsibility includes corporate awareness and public awareness, and there are differences between them. Enterprises should put the public awareness on the top; understand the interests of the public, as to gain the trust of the public.By empirical research and data processing, this paper finds the impact of enterprises fulfilling social responsibility on the public trust, so enterprises can have more knowledge on the public's demand, and eventually realize their transformation of enterprises social responsibility which they fulfill into a social capital.
