A Research On Environmental Interpretation System Planning And Designing Of Ecotourism Scenic Area

Ecotourism has been the main mode of current tourism industry's development, but the interpretation system in ecotourism scenic area is still at the level of traditional sightseeing tourism. The plans, designs and other aspects of interpretation system lack functions of education, environmental protection and local culture protection, which hardly reflect the features of ecotourism. As to the interpretation study, domestic researches lie on the mechanical copy and introduction from foreign countries. Interpretation media are still confined to self-guide and guide types. Different scenic areas' interpretation systems have no difference. This would influence the sustainable development of ecotourism and the competitiveness of scenic area eventually. Environmental interpretation system is not only a window of scenic area, but also a kind of landscape pieces, according to which tourists can evaluate the levels of scenic area's cultural quality, service and management. Therefore, environmental interpretation system is the inevitable selection of ecotourism sustainable development, the important tool of ecotourism core functions' reflection, and the effective method to realize ecotourism's special objective. As such, this paper, from the perspective of ecotourism's planning and designing, suggests that ecotourism scenic area should pay great attention to the environmental interpretation system, construct environmental interpretation system with the ecotourism features, under the theories and principles of ecotourism.The main innovations of this paper are: Firstly, based on the analysis of relevant concepts and comparative studies, this paper gives the conception of environmental interpretation system of ecotourism scenic area, and then discusses its basic theories and principles of planning and designing. Secondly, in order to meet different tourists' needs, this paper integrates various interpretation resources and media, focuses on ecotourism functions and features, designs a comprehensive and diversified environmental interpretation system of ecotourism scenic area, which consists of ten subsidiary systems, namely guide's activation system, tourist center, indicator plates, interpretation plates, publication products, official website, audio-video facilities, ecotourism experience, eco-landscape pieces, environmental protection and service equipments.
