From the global economy, the development of industrial clusters has increasingly become a universal phenomenon. Industrial cluster of different sectors is blossom in China. Industrial clusters as the new operating mode in the process of economic development have the performance of their strong competitiveness and vitality. Based on the theoretical point of traditional economics, as the world's economic globalization and trade liberalization, regional differences will no longer exist, that is, production and business activities in the distribution of space should become gradually balance. And the emergence of industrial clusters becomes a paradox which challenges traditional economic theory. And because of the rapid development of industrial clusters in the world and important contribution that industrial clusters made in the regional and national economic development, making it the subject of many important research. At present, domestic and foreign research literature on industrial clusters have a large number of emission, most study of whom are from the traditional economics, industrial economics, economic geography, regional economics. With the economic globalization and the globalization of technological innovation, industrial clusters gradually expand the scope of the study; industrial cluster phenomenon has not reasonable explanation from the resource endowment, transaction costs, market demand, knowledge spillovers and other economic theory. On the research of industrial clusters, it changes into the comprehensive research methods of cross-disciplinary and cross-infiltration of theory that the original theory and method stress a particular subject. The literature in the past two years, network analysis method has been increasingly used in the study of industrial clusters. In this paper, author use social network analysis tool for the upgrading study of industrial clusters. The author, according to hypothetical premise on the positive correlation between upgrading of industrial clusters and the performance of enterprises in industrial clusters, use two research methods that are theoretical analysis and empirical study, build a relatively complete social network analysis framework under the theme of the upgrading research of industrial cluster and try to use quantitative research methods drawing general conclusions. In this paper, author discusses the upgrading of industrial clusters based on impact of the enterprise performance in industrial clusters that are made by the characteristics of the network. Author studies how four characteristic variables, which are the network density, network strength, reciprocity and centers, impact the performance of enterprise innovation, and in accordance with the relevant social network theory, setting up the four assumptions and drawing the statistical relevant data through the questionnaire of enterprises survey for testing the four assumptions and the conclusions drawn. That is, the three variables of the network structure network, which are density, reciprocity and center, have significant positive correlation with and performance of enterprise innovation within industrial clusters; positive correlation between the strength of the relationship and performance of enterprise innovation within industrial clusters is against the assumption based on social network theory. This shows that the frequent exchange of information and resources in network will help enterprises enhance innovation performance, thereby promoting the development of industrial clusters.Through empirical study we found that some of the different aspects of social networks on the impact of industrial clusters and upgrading activities are different. This view is right or not in some cases? This argument or restrict the circumstances of this argument can theoretically be that or not? In research methods, whether there are other research methods to study how the social networks impact internal and external relations of industrial clusters? We need researching work in the focus of study in the future.
