The Theoretical Level Of Deng Xiaoping's Econnomic Thought And Its Characteristics

In the 15th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, Jiang Zemin called on the entire Party to hold high the great banner of Deng Xiaoping theory for an all-round advancement of the cause of building socialism with Chinese characteristics into the 21st century and to start a new upsurge among the Party members of studying Deng Xiaoping's theory. The most main part in the study of Deng Xiaoping's theory is his economic thought; It is the Deng Xiaoping Theory core.At present, there are few papers focusing theoretically on the study of Deng Xiaoping's economic thought in the academic field. Having collected large numbers of materials accumulated, the author analyses the latest academic achievements related to this thesis and, combining the practical problems while learning Deng Xiaoping's economic thought, carries out a thorough study on Deng Xiaoping's economic thought on the theoretical level. This thesis will be helpful in the complete and accurate understanding and mastering of Deng Xiaoping's economic thought and be of great significance during the new construction period of socialist modernization.Employing the basic principles of dialectical materialism and historical materialism, this thesis analyses the main views of Deng Xiaoping's economic thought from a new perspective which consists of three aspects, the productive forces, the relations of production and the unity of the productive forces and the relations of production. With regard to the aspect of the productive forces, it discusses the theory on fundamental task in the primary stage of socialism, socialist market economy theory and reform and opening up theory. It also explains the theory that science and technology is the primary productive force. As regards the aspect of the relations of production, it studies the principle of keeping public ownership in a dominant position, and the principle of achieving common prosperity. As far as the aspect of the unity of the productive forces and the relations of production is concerned, it discusses the nature of socialism.Meanwhile, this thesis summarizes the main characteristics of Deng Xiaoping's economic thought and points out that the main characteristics of Deng Xiaoping's economic thought includes studying economic problems from a political background, and from its openness, practicality, time-relatedness and innovativeness.Marxism must develop along with the change of the reality. Deng Xiaoping's economic thought is not a closed and static system but an open system. In the Report of the 15th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, Jiang Zemin mentioned three times that Deng Xiaoping theory demanded innovation and development. Therefore, Deng Xiaoping's economic thought must develop and enrich together with the progress in reform and opening up, as well as in social economic life.
