Oracle is a global software company with thirty years history developing for database software. It is easy to find that the development history of Oracle is just the database software history about technology innovation and development for the thirty years, and we can find Oracle software on each progress of the database software industry. Currently, The competition of the database software marketing is more and more sharper, as the one of the oldest database software supplier, facing so heavy situation, and rapid development of database technology, how to integrate the limited resources, how to strengthen the market advanced position, and how to grasp the future technology and trend of database, All of these Oracle must consider it seriously from strategy. The thesis analyzes and researches Oracle database software product especially RDBMS from strategy management view using PEST, SWOT etc., through the comparison and contrast between Oracle database and other databases; for example, IBM's DB2> Microsoft's SQL Server, and get the Oracle database product strategy in the end, also make a brief analysis to some questions when implementing the Oracle business strategy.Chapter 1 is the introduction to the background, research method, content, structure of the thesis, then raise some problems that Oracle encountered at the same time. Chapter 2 sketches out the history of Oracle Corporation and database software products. Chapter 3 introduces some theories of strategy management briefly. Chapter 4, chapter 5,chapter 6, and chapter 7 are the key part of the thesis, these chapters analyze Oracle database software products especially RDBMS with general environment, industry environment, and internal environment using PEST, BCG, and Porter's five-forces model. The feasible business strategy of Oracle database product is induced through SWOT analysis tools in the end. Chapter 8 introduces Oracle corporation strategy and database business strategy, then give some considerations of implementing the database business strategy. The last part is the conclusion of the thesis.By analyzing and researching the strategy of Oracle database products especially RDBMS, it is easy to find the success Oracle achieved is not just a chance, but the most important is the innovation continually, global business management and product strategy management base on customer service. And the model of successful business management is very useful to Chinese software companies, especially to the database software companies.
