Nowadays, the market competition has become more and more severe, the corporations increasingly realize that they can not do anything without the support of suppliers. Therefore, how to control and improve purchasing management will be important factor for their further business development, but some of them have not prepared for enough resources to compliance with this requirement, M company included.This thesis sets M company as a research object, tries to apply the theories of logistic management and purchasing management to working out effective solutions to solve its current purchasing issues at root.Firstly this thesis tries to find out root cause based on current M company internal problem in three ways: one is change of business environment for M company, it is unavoidable that purchasing work drip into confused situation, as old purchasing method can not be compliance with development of M company, The second one is lacking of cooperation of different dept. in M company, it is just responsibility of purchasing dept. to manage supplier. The last but not at least one is bad performance of purchasing dept., such as unstable purchaser, unreasonable purchasing process flow, weak position for purchaser, all of these factors finally result in out of control of purchasing management. Secondly this paper works out the solution, that is "synergic purchasing", which emphasizes cooperation of each dept. and then extend to the whole supply chain. As we know, supply chain is composed of three parts: corporate internal supply chain, supply chain between corporate and suppliers, supplier chain linked to customer which is not under the scope of research of this paper. At first, this thesis applies the method of BPR to studying how to set up internal supply chain for M company, includes change of organization structure, establishing function-crossing team, reengineering the current business process, setting up inner supply value chain. And then this thesis applies the method of "purchasing focus tool" to classifying different supplier, making different purchasing strategy to different supplier, focusing resources on the management of suppliers who provide high value & big risk items according to 80/20 principle and building up strategic cooperation relationship with them. Finally this thesis recommends with an emphasis the process of how to seek, evaluate and choose strategic supplier and how to build up and maintain strategic relationship with them.
